Your clients must take a few steps to make a new health plan they’ve selected official, and they may turn to you for guidance. To cut down on repetitive phone calls to you and the call centers, BCBSTX has a website that explains your clients’ “next steps” after enrolling.

Members must make their first payment for 2025 BCBSTX coverage to take effect, even if they aren’t making any changes. Without this payment, they may have to pay in full at the provider or pharmacy, or risk claim denial. (Applies to Individual market.)

We want to clarify a few points about the 2025 off-exchange special enrollment period (SEP) training. While the training is recommended to help you stay up to speed on SEP rules and processes for smooth enrollments, it is not required, and whether you complete it has no impact on commissions. The Plan Year 2025 Off-Exchange SEP Training PDF is available now, and we encourage you to complete it and affirm completion if you sell off-exchange qualified health plans due to clients’ qualifying life events. To affirm training completion, log in to Blue Access for ProducersSM with your personal account (not your agency’s). Note that multistate producers only need to affirm once—it applies across states.
